Description
This 2015 BMW M3 sedan was purchased new by the seller, the Chief Engineer for KRATOS Turbo Systems, and was reportedly used as a development vehicle for the company’s turbocharger components. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter S55 inline-six that is said to have been overhauled by KRATOS with their in-house short block, ported cylinder heads, and various fueling and cooling system components in addition to other modifications for the air intake, intercooler, and exhaust. Finished in Yas Marina Blue Metallic over Amaro Brown Extended Merino leather, the car was optioned from the factory with the Executive, Lighting Package, and Driver Assistance Plus packages along with a seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch transmission, 19″ Style 437M alloy wheels, ceramic-composite brakes, a power rear sunshade, and a Harman Kardon sound system. A carbon-fiber roof panel, an Active M differential, Öhlins adjustable coilovers, and heated front and rear seats round out the list of features. Previously listed on BaT in January 2024, this F80 M3 has 5k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, two trophies, removed parts, a clean Carfax report, and a Florida title. The F80 M3 featured widened bodywork along with revised fender vents and bumpers compared to the standard 3 series. This example was optioned in Yas Marina Blue Metallic and is equipped with Shadowline trim as well as a carbon-fiber roof panel. The Lighting Package added adaptive LED headlights with automatic high beams while the Executive Package included retractable headlight washers, Park Distance Control, Comfort Access keyless entry, and a rearview camera. A ceramic coating has reportedly been applied to the exterior. ASR Engineering air intakes are equipped with mesh filters and reside behind each kidney grille. They work in conjunction with the front and rear KRATOS silicone intake inlet hoses. Optional 19″ Style 437M alloy wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport tires measuring 255/35 up front and 275/35 out back. The car is equipped with Öhlins Road & Track coilovers with a custom spring rate, and braking is handled by gold M-branded calipers fitted over cross-drilled and ventilated ceramic-composite rotors at all four corners. Amaro Brown Extended Merino leather covers the heated and power-adjustable lightweight front sport seats as well as the heated outboard rear seats. Matching upholstery extends to the door panels and center armrest while carbon-fiber trim accents the dashboard and center console. A Harman Kardon sound system and a power rear sunshade were optioned from the factory, and additional amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a head-up display, and iDrive infotainment with navigation and satellite radio capability. The heated and leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is equipped with shift paddles and frames a 200-mph speedometer, an 8,500-rpm tachometer, gauges for oil temperature and fuel level, and a digital odometer indicating 5k miles. The Driver Assistance Plus Package added active blind-spot detection, Active Driving Assistant, and side and top-view cameras. The seller notes that a ceramic coating has been applied to various interior surfaces. The trunk is outfitted with a KRATOS-spec five-gallon ice chill tank with a circular 8″ lid, stainless-steel fittings, 1 1/8″ coolant lines, and a petcock drain valve along with a Rule 2000 GPH pump mounted inside the tank. The seller reports that the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter S55 inline-six was overhauled under current ownership with a KRATOS-spec short block and ported cylinder head, both of which are said to contain the following components: Previously installed KRATOS KRAS55 turbochargers were replaced with the factory units in preparation for the sale according to the seller, who states that the engine is further equipped with the following modifications: Per the seller, the seven-speed M DCT dual-clutch transmission is fitted with a Dodson Motorsports red anodized billet oil pan, filter kit, and Sportsman 10 clutch kit with a billet basket that was installed in December 2023. An electronically controlled Active M differential was installed from the factory. The valved and resonated ASR Engineering exhaust system is constructed from stainless steel and has cat-less downpipes with heat shields as well as four carbon-fiber tips. The window sticker shows initial delivery to BMW of Lincoln, Nebraska, along with standard features, selected options, and a total suggested retail price of $87,750. Manufacturer’s literature and the removed factory tire inflator and cargo net are included in the sale along with two trophies from the 2019 wannaGOFAST 1/2 Mile Shootout in Florida, in which the car won in the Privateer Class for the fastest four-door vehicle and the fastest overall exotic/import vehicle. The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage and lists history in Nebraska, Florida, and Montana. There is currently a lien on the car, and the seller’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner.
