Description

This 2008 BMW M3 is a stock sedan that is finished in Sparkling Graphite Metallic over black leather and was purchased new in San Francisco by the seller. Power is from a 4.0-liter DOHC V8 mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The car has remained in the San Francisco Bay Area from new and shows just under 61k miles. The included Carfax report shows regular dealer maintenance, including a 45k-mile service consisting of new spark plugs as well as an oil and filter change. This E90 M3 is offered with a California title in the seller’s name. The sedan shared the M3 coupe’s wider and more sculpted front end, while side sills were adapted from the standard E90 four-door. The seller reports that a collision in 2013 resulted in bodywork and paint to the grill, bumper, and leading edge of the hood. The seller notes scratches in the driver-side rear door trim, blemishes on the rear bumper cover, and a dimple adjacent to the BMW roundel on the hood as can be seen in the detailed photos below. The black leather interior is said to remain in stock condition. The car was optioned with heated seats and a power rear sunshade. No sunroof is equipped. Creasing can be seen on the driver-side seat bolster. The odometer shows just under 61k miles. The E9x was the only generation of M3 to receive V8 power in the form of the naturally aspirated 4.0-liter S65 seen here. The powerplant was rated at 414 horsepower at 8,300 RPM and 295 lb-ft of torque at 3,900 RPM when new, enough to accelerate the sedan to 60 MPH in 4.3 seconds during period testing. The seller reports that both throttle actuators were replaced by BMW at approximately 30k miles. The Carfax report confirms single ownership and appears to corroborate the mileage, also listing an open 2017 recall for blower motor wiring. No record of the 2013 collision is included. The car last passed a California emissions test in December 2017 according to the seller.
