BMW M3 2002 (E46)

Description

This 2002 BMW M3 convertible was first delivered to Athens BMW in Georgia, and it has been registered in the state from new. The car remained in the original owner’s care until it was purchased by the seller in April 2022. It is finished in Imola Red over gray Nappa leather and is powered by a 3.2-liter inline-six linked with a six-speed SMG sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. Features include the Power Seat Package, the Cold Weather Package, a black soft top, 18″ M double-spoke Style 67 wheels, xenon headlights, Park Distance Control parking sensors, heated power-adjustable front sport seats, a Harman Kardon sound system, and automatic climate control. This E46 M3 has 142k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Georgia title. The car is finished in Imola Red (405) and features a black convertible soft top as well as xenon headlights, fog lights, Park Distance Control parking sensors, and quad exhaust outlets. The Carfax report lists “minor” damage to the front in an August 2018 entry. The seller tells us that the front bumper cover was replaced after being damaged during a tow. The front grilles were replaced in 2023. The seller notes that a portion of the weatherstripping is loose along the rear passenger side of the convertible top, and a missing section of the front windshield seal is shown in the gallery. The 18″ M double-spoke Style 67 wheels show curb marks and are mounted with a mix of Michelin and Accelera tires. The rear tires were replaced in 2025. The car was factory equipped with Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), and braking is provided by four-wheel ventilated discs. Subframe bushings were replaced in February 2016, and the front brake rotors and pads were replaced in July 2019 at 130k miles. The cabin features heated power-adjustable front sport seats upholstered in gray Nappa leather, and Titan Shadow trim accents the dash and door panels. Interior amenities include cruise control, navigation, a Harman Kardon sound system, and automatic climate control. The navigation display and master window switch are inoperative, and the radio functions intermittently. Photos detailing wear on the interior surfaces are included in the gallery. The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel features M-color stitching and frames a 185-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a variable redline along with gauges for coolant temperature, oil temperature, and fuel level. The steering-angle sensor was replaced in April 2022. The digital odometer indicates 142k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership. The 3.2-liter S54 inline-six was factory rated at 333 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.The seller tells us that the rod bearing recall service was performed in October 2004. The double-VANOS system was repaired in February 2016, and the thermostat was replaced in June 2016. The battery was replaced earlier this year, and the car most recently passed a Georgia vehicle emissions inspection in August 2025. Service records detailing additional work are presented below. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed SMG sequential transmission and a limited-slip differential. The differential was resealed and the mounts were replaced in February 2016 at 113k miles, and the SMG hydraulic pump and relay were replaced in August 2018. The transmission intermittently remains stuck in the gear. The window sticker lists initial delivery to Athens BMW in Georgia, as well as factory colors, options, and a total suggested retail price of $62,705. The Carfax report shows the aforementioned damage.
